Travel to West Japan

Hi,

I'll arrive Tokyo (Haneda) on 9th June 2017 and would travel directly to Karuizawa. and on the 11th June, I planned to visit Kanazawa and Takayama. What is the best route using JR Line to these places and return back to Tokyo.

Hi there,

From Karuizawa, the best way would be to take a local train to the station of Sakudaira (not too far away) and use the Hokuriku Shinkansen from there to Kanazawa directly. You could also visit Takayama by using the same Hokuriku Shinkansen to Toyama and from there use a local or limited express train to Takayama.

The Hokuriku Shinkansen also goes back to Tokyo directly from Kanazawa.
