Dear Daniel-san,

Me and my spouse are going to spent 17 days in Japan.
20.9.-25.9. Tokyo
25.9.-28.9. Kyoto
28.9.-29.9. Nara
29.9.-2.10. Osaka
2.10.-3.10. Hiroshima
3.10.-5.10. Tokyo+Mt.Fuji

It is generaly possible use JR bullet train for all above mentioned lines?
Which station on the way from Hiroshima to Tokyo is best to see Mt.Fuji?
It is applicable any discount for holders of JR pass in JR hotels network? If yes, how much?
It is among JR hotels in any of above mentioned towns equipped with traditional japan onsen?

Thak you very much in advance for your answer and help.

All the best.

Hi Atilla,

You can use the JR Pass to visit all the above cities and use the bullet train where available (for instance there is no bullet train station at Nara).

You can have a great view of Fuji at Atami, Odawara or Mishima stations. You can also travel a bit closer to Fuji and visit places like Gotemba or Kawaguchiko. If you have a bit more time, then a visit to the Hakone region is very nice. You can view Fuji nicely from there and there are many interesting activities for sightseeing in the area.

While some JR hotels will give you a small discount with the JR Pass, it is generally more cheaper to buy hotels directly at special rates. You will find traditional Ryokan with Onsen in any of the above places but I would recommend staying in one at Kyoto or around Fuji for the best experience.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
