I will be travelling from Narita airport to Tokyo and then on to Kitakami and return. I am on a short visit for a sporting event and will be doing no other travelling around Japan. Is it worth me getting a JR pass? I

Hello there,
Yes, most certainly! A one way ticket Narita Airport - Kitakami is between ¥ 16,140 and ¥ 20,830, a return is basically double the price. The 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,110, so you'll be making good savings in any event. The JR Pass is also good for travel within Tokyo on the JR Network, should you have some free time to spend.
