Hi Daniel-san,

  1. We are going to Kyoto from Kawaguchiko (after staying in Tokyo for a few days) and we have JR Passes to use. I am finding it simpler to go back to Tokyo and take the Shinkansen to Kyoto rather than use the buses to go to another station in the area to catch a train to Kyoto. It is our first time to go to Kawaguchiko and Kyoto. I think the trips (from Kawaguchiko to Kyoto and from Tokyo to Kyoto) will involve the same amount of time of between 5-6 hours. What do you think?

  2. Which bullet train do we take and do we take it from Shinjuku or Tokyo station?

  3. Also, is there a way I can go back and search for previous questions I had sent to you to which you have responded?

Hope you can reply soon.

Thank you!
Fe

Hi Fe,

1.) Yes, it would be more simple to go back to Tokyo and just get on the Shinkansen from there. It will also cost you a bit less if you use railways back to Tokyo.

2.) There is no Shinkansen train at Shinjuku, you can use the JR Chuo line between both stations. It is quite quick.

3.) Yes, there's a search function for the forum at the top of the main forum page. Please use it to find your order questions :)

Hope this helps,
Daniel
