How long would the trip last using the Shinkansen? Would you recommand flying instead?

Hi there,

It is about 7-8 hours by Shinkansen. It all depends on your budget what is better. Flying will be faster but the JR Pass is by far more economic. Especially if you bring it down to cost per day.
