Hello,

I am visiting Japan from Feb 22 to Mar 7 and just want to confirm buying the JR Pass is the right move for me to get around.

1) Can I get to the Hakuba Valley to ski all on the JR Pass?
2) Will the JR Pass take me from the Osaka city centre to the airport near by?
3) How do I know if a train or bus is covered or not covered by the JR Pass? Do they have a marking on them?
4) Where do i reserve seats once I have my JR Pass?
5) I'm visiting, as indicated for a total of 15 days, so I'm considering just getting the 14 day pass and then footing the bill to the airport on the 15th day...do you know how much it would cost me to get to the airport in Osaka from the city centre?

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

1.) You can get to Hakuba station using the JR Pass. You may need further transport from there to your accomodation.

2.) Which airport? You can go to Kansai Airport for free.

3.) Yes, you can also ask the staff at any time. When you reserve seats, they will always reserve the right seats for you.

4.) At any JR ticket window or station.

5.) It depends on what aiport. a safe bet is 1.000-2000yen.

Kind regards,
Daniel
