Buying local tickets or day passes for Tokyo is generally the best option if you stay locally.

Hi,
With that length of time, you can easily take some good day trips to places in the area - Izu, Karuizawa, Kusatsu, Kawagoe, Takao, Okutama, the Hitachi Seaside Park, Nikko ... look into getting a Tokyo Wide Pass. You can also see Hakone and the Fuji 5 Lakes area. There are some good Odakyu Passes for there too.
