Hi Daniel-San,

I will be travelling to Tokyo with my husband and daughter from 13/8/2023-22/8/2023 (10 days). arrival @ 8.30am 13/8/2023 in Narita, Tokyo.
13/8/2023 - 17/8/2023 (5 days) plan to travelling to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.
17/8/2023 afternoon will travel back to Tokyo and will spend time and visiting around Tokyo (17/8/2023-22/8/2023).
Should i purchase JR Pass for the first 7 days and the balance days in Tokyo using IC card to travel around?
is it worth getting green class or just ordinary class?
JR Pass Tokyo to Osaka, do we need to book space for our luggage?

Hi Azura,

The JR Pass will be a good option if you can include the trip Tokyo - Osaka, Kyoto and Nara - Tokyo within the 7-days. Then use normal tickets for an IC card for the remaining local travel in Tokyo.

I love the Green Cars myself, but it is not a requirement to travel in comfort, see:
www.jrpass.com/green-pass

Luggage can be booked at any JR station but it only needed if your bags and suitcases do not fit in the overhead cabins.

Another thing,should I buy Jr full pass or Hokuriku Arch Pass? Are the route same?

The Hokuriku Arch passes, only covers "The Hokuriku Arch" - Which is Tokyo - Nagano - Kanazawa - Kyoto/Osaka. While the JR Pass is valid nationwide!

I usually just recommend the JR Pass, unless you either 1.) Have budget considerations or 2.) Want to visit these cities along the way. Otherwise, it just adds extra travel time.

Horayy.. I have bought my ticket JR Pass, how can i book the seat online or do i need to book the seat once I activated my ticket in Tokyo?
