Hi! Next month I will be traveling to Japan and I am very looking forward to experience the people, culture and delicious food!
The planning is like this:
7-14 April - Tokyo
14 - 19 April - Kyoto
19 - 22 April - Ito
22 - 23 April - Tokyo (Nara)

So, I guess I can purchase the JR Pass, but will this cover the routes that I've planned out? I've checked HyperDia and for some reason it keep referring to the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen Nazomi 25 line, where the JR Pass is not valid. So I am a bit confused right now. In Tokyo I will leave from Tawaramachi Station.

And I suppose if the JR Pass covers this route, it should start from April 14th (JR Pass for 7 days) to cover the travel between Tokyo-Kyoto-Ito?

Thanx for the effort for answering my questions.

With best regards,

Cha

Hi Cha,

For your route I would recommend buying normal tickets, a 7 JR Pass would have been a good option but only if you returned to Tokyo before it expires.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
