Hi wanted to check the route using the JR pass from Tokyo to gotemba then onwards to Osaka.

Would it be faster if we take our rental car at odawara instead of gotemba? R the roads in the area difficult to drive on?

Hi there,

You can use the JR Pass to access Gotemba and go on to Osaka.

I don't have experience driving in this area, so can't really comment.

What I do know is that there are several toll roads around, that can well add to the cost of taking the car.
