Hi , I plan to go to Japan from 29 March to 8 Apr 2017.

Tentative schedule as follows:
Day 1 to Day 3 travelling around Central, Northern, Western, and Southern Tokyo
Day 4 Kamakura day trip
Day 5 Nikko day trip
Day 6 to Day 7 Kyoto (staying at Osaka)
Day 8 Nara (staying at Osaka)
Day 9 full day at Osaka
Day 10 Osaka to Kansai Airport.

Any recommendation which pass I need and the effective way to save transport ?

Thank you in advance

Hi there,

I think the best option here is to buy normal rail tickets and look at discount options locally. A JR Pass would be great if used for a return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka. Your travel is mainly based in the Kanto and Kansai regions with one longer trip between them.

For Nikko, consider using a Tobu-Nikko Pass:

Hope this helps,
Daniel
