To use JR Pass for travelling from Hakata to Shin-Osaka and from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo

We're looking to use JR Pass for the route;
(1) from Hakata to Shin-Osaka (2) from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo

However, we noticed that "The pass is not valid for “NOZOMI” and “MIZUHO” trains on the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen lines.".
The questions are
- What is Tokaido, Sanyo, and Kyushu Shinkansen lines? - Does it mean we could not travel with these two types of Shinkansen?

Thank you.

Hi there,

You can't use the Nozomi or Mizuho trains. Any other trains on the Tokaido, Sanyo, and Kyushu Shinkansen lines are included.
