The valid date to receive JR west pass (first date of period)

Hello,

This is the first time I buy the JR west pass (Sanyo San-in Area Pass).

In JR west website,
https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/howto/train-reservation/receive/

There is a following information
- Deadline for receiving ticket: Valid until the day the valid period begins

If valid period of my JR west pass is from 1st Dec - 7th Dec.
does it mean that I can get the JR west pass at first day 1st Dec?

Since I would get the JR west pass at Kansai airport when I reach Japan, and use the JR west pass to reserve Haruka ticket,
I need to get the JR west pass (real ticket) at first day of JR west pass period.

Hi there,

Yes, the validity period is 7-days, and thus starting it on Dec 1st means the last day would be Dec 7th.

If you want to use the Haruka from arrival, then yes, you'd have to use the Sanyo San-in Area Pass from the moment that you arrival.
