Hi, so I’m traveling to Japan for 2 weeks in the middle of May. For the first week I’ll be in Tokyo going around harajuku, Akihabara and exploring Shimokitazawa. I thought I could just get a sucia for that. But the second week for about 6 days I’ll be in Nara, Osaka and Kyoto. I don’t know if it’s worth it to get a JR pass for those two weeks. I want to save money since I’m a student. Should I get a sucia for the first week and only get a JR for the second week??

Hi there,
Suica is the same as buying normal rail tickets, as Suica is only an electronic way of paying. That said, it can be quite convenient.
For the JR Pass, I would recommend using a 7 day JR Pass if you can make the return Tokyo - Kyoto with it.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
