Hello,

My friends and I are planning on visiting Tokyo I'm a week.. We're staying in Tokyo for a week and we have some day trips in mind... We would like to go to Kamakura, lake kawaguchiko and of course Kyoto .. Is the JR pass the best option for us?

Hi there,

Yes, I recommend using a 7 day JR Pass if you can include the return Tokyo - Kyoto with it. The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is about the same as a normal return ticket using the Shinkansen. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. I just wanted to make sure that we were going to be able to use the pass for our Kyoto day trip and for the rest of the days we're going to be there for.
