Shinjuku to Hiroshima

Hello all. We are arriving in mid-May and will be staying at Shinjuku area for a 10 day vacation. I am very excited.

For months now, I have been reading a lot of blogs from different people who have visited the country. My husband and I are debating whether to get the JR pass or not. One of the reasons we even decided to go to Japan is Hiroshima, I have seen and read blogs about how to get there but I am overwhelmed from where to go or how much the costs of the ride will be, and if going to Hiroshima for a 1 day is even feasible.

Can someone give me some advice on what to do, how much it would costs or if we can do a 1 day trip to Hiroshima.

Please help!!!

Hello there,

Going from Tokyo to Hiroshima takes about 271 Minutes/one way using the JR Pass at the Shinkansen. As such a day trip to Hiroshima would not be recommend and I would stay at least one night in Hiroshima.

A one way Tokyo - Hiroshima will cost ¥ 18,760 full fare or double for a return. As such a 7 day JR Pass would be very cost efficient if you device on making the trip.

Hiroshima is on the Tokaido / Sanyo Shinkansen line, with many other great stops on the route. Think of Hakone, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Himeji and more. It would be easy to make a stop at any of these cities.
