Saving on Japan Rail Pass

Hi,

I am travelling to Japan from 22nd October till 29th October.

I will be reaching Nagoya on 22nd & will travel to Ogaki by Rail, will stay in Ogaki till 25th October.
On 26th I will be going from Ogaki to Kyoto & return.
On 27th I will be going from Ogaki to Tokyo.
27th & 28th I will be staying in Tokyo & leave Japan through Tokyo Narita on 29th.

Please advice as per the above itenary, on which sector the Japan Rail pass will work for me?

Does the Japan Rail Pass give me any access to local metro travel in Tokyo?

Will it be an economical option to buy the Japan Rail pass or should I buy individual tickets for each route?

If you feel that regional passes will be more beneficial, please advice.

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary for the best option(s) and must conclude that it would be cheaper to buy normal tickets for your trip than a rail pass. Simply because the cost of normal tickets here would be lower.

The JR Pass is valid on the urban JR network in Tokyo but not on the Tokyo Metro.
