hello, is there a night train travels from sapporo to tokyo station and is it covered by jr pass? if so, is there an extra cost for that? also i've searched for it using the google maps and then a bit confused with the timetable. if we arrive at shin-hokuto-hakodate station by 23.16 and depart again with a tohoku shinkansen hayabusa 10 at 06.35, does it mean we have to stay at the station until morning before traveling to tokyo?

sorry for the long question, i appreciate this forum's existence so much. thanks a ton.

Hello there,

These days there is no longer a night train service between Sapporo and Tokyo, these stopped operating when the Hokkaido Shinkansen opened in 2016.

Now the best option is to use the Shinkansen by day.

Kind regards,
Daniel
