Hi there,

I need to travel from:

Oita to Kyoto.
Kyoto to Shizuoka.
Shizuoka to Yokohama.

This is all within a 7 day period.

Does the Japan rail pass make sense for me?

Hi there,

Yes, a 7-day JR Pass work well here. Oita is nearly as much south as you can go in Japan and going up to Tokyo/Yokohama would cost a lot without it. You can use the Shinkansen to visit Kyoto, Shizuoka and Yokohama.
