mi hija va a viajar el 21 de marzo y yo el 28 de marzo.
si no le llega a tiempo el JRP antes de viajar, ¿puedo activar yo cuando llegue el 30 de marzo los dos JRP (el suyo y el mío) o es un trámite personal?

Hi Daniel:
I'm travelling with my daugther to Japan. She is going to fly on March 21 to a seminar of karate and I'm coming on March 28. We are going to stay there till April 12.
We want to buy the JRP but it could be that hers will not arrive on time to Chile, before she flys on March 21.
Can I take her JRP to Japan on March 28 and can she activate the pass there when I arrive? Where can she activate the pass? Only on the airport?

Hi María Teresa,

Yes, of course, you can buy hers and bring it with you when you travel to Japan.

Please keep in mind that you (or her) will need her passport when activating the JR Pass in Japan. You can do so at many stations, a full list can be found here:
