I will be in Japan during the final 2 weeks of December and have purchased a 14 day pass accordingly. I have been looking but cannot find anywhere to reserve seats on the trains ahead of time, online, prior to our arrival.
Any information on where to go in order to make online reservations ahead of our travel would be much appreciated!

Hi there,
You’ll need to have activated the JR Pass once in Japan in order to begin making reservations, so that JR knows that you’ll actually be using the JR Pass. As long as you set an activation date for a few days in advance you can then start reserving seats.

Thank you for your insight, I was hopeful to be able to reserve everything in advance, prior to arrival in Japan, however if this is not possible then I will be sure to make all my reservations once we arrive.
