Hi ,

We are travelling with friends to Japan on October 28- Nov. 3. Below our Itinerary:

Oct. 28 - departure from Philippines to Kansai Airport
Oct. 29 - Day 1 - visit Kyoto , Nara
Oct. 30 - Day 2 - visit Osaka and side trip to Kobe
Oct. 31 - Day 3 - leave Osaka to Narita Airport
Nov. 1 - Day 1 - Tokyo ( Asakusa, Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuko
Nov. 2 - Day 2 - ( kindly suggest other parts to visit in Tokyo?)
Nov. 3 - Day 3 - back to Philippines
Question:
1. Is JR pass necessary for the above IT?
2. Can you recommend other pass to use if we travel OSaka, Kyoto and Nara?

Thank you so much for your assistance.

Hi there,

I think buying normal rail tickets is the best option here. A JR Pass works great if you make a return Tokyo - Osaka but it looks like you only travel one way.

Travel within Kansai is pretty cheap, so normal tickets will suffice there too.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
