Hello!!
I was wondering if someone could clear a doubt for me.
I'm arriving to Osaka on May 18th, and would be leaving to Chiba on the 20th, now I'm wondering if the JR Pass works for any train that goes along this commute?
Which trype of train would be the best to take from Osaka to Chiba where the JR Pass applies?
Would I have to buy an extra ticket?
Thanks so much for the help!
I'm aware once we arrive to Chiba, the Pass will be on handy when travelling to Shibuya, Akihabara and others. But if there's other options you can recommend, that would be great!

Hi there,
Do you know what station in Chiba you'll travel to? It is quite a large area. In general the JR Pass will get you there but I can tell you for sure if you know the station.
You can also use the JR Pass to travel to Tokyo, Osaka and pretty much elsewhere in Japan.

Hi!! We actually decided not to stay in Osaka, since it was cutting us time from other activities.
However, ai fo have a new question!
If we only stay within Tokyo, do we have to buy the JR Pass, or should we just carry cash for the regular buses and trains when travelling from our hotel (Ikebukuro) to the main points in the city (Asakusa, Shibuya, etc)??
Is there a different kind of pass we should buy for our 5 nights stay?

Hi there,
For just travel in Tokyo it is cheaper to buy normal tickets. As local travel does not cost a lot. You can also consider day tickets, such as offered by the Tokyo Metro.
