Hi, i've been reading information on JR Pass but i'm still confused.

I and my nieces will be travelling to japan in Apr'18. We will be arriving @ KIX and will go to our rented house at osaka.

We have yet to come out with a detail itinerary but planned to travel/walk around Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and maybe Kobe.

Do we need to buy JR pass? Or can we use the Icoca card for our 7 days at these areas?

Kindly advise, thank you :)

Hi there,

As your plans stand now, I would just buy normal tickets/use an ICOCA card. Travel around the Kansai Area itself is not expensive. A Japan Rail Pass would come in handy when you start traveling a bit more. Think of going to Tokyo or Hiroshima.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
