I have a question concerning night train rides on first and last days of the period.

Like, JRP starts from tomorrow. Can I ride Moonlight Nagara from Hamamatsu to Tokyo (departing 24:55) by JRP? Can I ride Sunrise Seto (nobi nobi seats) from Osaka to Tokyo (departing after the midnight as well)?

Or, today is the last day for JRP. Can I ride Moonlight Nagara from Nagoya to Tokyo (departing 23:20) by JRP? Can I ride Sunrise Seto from Okayama to Tokyo (departing before the midnight as well)?

Hi there,

Your JR Pass needs to be valid when you board the train. A new day starts at midnight 00:00 hours. Please note that the night trains may need a reservation beforehand, so be sure to check at the ticket window.
