Nation Wide Pass vs Regional Pass

Hi, I will be arriving & leaving Japan via Haneda airport. We plan (3 adults and 1 child) to go straight to Osaka upon arrival then to explore Kyoto the next day. Then explore Tokyo area for 5 days including Galayuzawa, Kawaguchiko, Disneyland. I am wondering will it be worth to purchase JR Nation Wide Pass plus using SUICA for uncovered area or better to get Tokyo Osaka Hokuriku Arch Pass and buy separate ticket for Kawaguchiko?

Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there,

There is no regional pass that covers direct travel to Osaka.

As such I think using a 7-day Japan Rail Pass will be the best option. The Tokyo Osaka Hokuriku Arch Pass adds a lot of extra travel time and should only be considered if you want to make a stop or two along the Hokuriku route.

Kind regards,
Daniel
