Hi
I will be arriving in Nagoya on 2 March and will travel to Tokyo immediately on 2 March 19.
I will be travelling back to Nagoya from Hakone on 8 March 19.

question: If I activate the 7 days JR pass on 2 March 19 at 9am, when would be the expiry date of my pass? is it on 9 March 19, 9am?

Can you also direct me how to travel from Nagoya to Tokyo and from Hakone back to Nagoya?

thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The JR Pass is valid for 7 consecutive days, for instance activating the JR Pass on a Monday will mean that the last day of use is the following Sunday. Thus, activating it on the 2nd, means it will expire on the 8th, regardless of what time you first get on the train.

Shinkansen will take you directly from Tokyo station to Nagoya station, it is very convenient :) The Shinkansen station for Hakone is called Odawara station, from there you can use the Shinkansen directly to Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
