I am trying to figure out if it is worth getting the JR Pass.
I will be in Japan for 12 days. First 4 night in Tokyo. I thought if I did get a 7 day pass to activare it when I travel from Fujikawaguchiko to Kyoto because I will want to travel on the bullet train. I will also need Shinkansen from Osaka to Hiroshima and Hiroshima to Tokyo. I will be travelling with husband and 14 and 16 year old children.
Because we are traveling in April will there be room on the Shinkansen? Do you think it is worth getting JR pass? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

A 7-day Japan Rail Pass will be well worth it, if you make the route Tokyo - Osaka - Hiroshima - Tokyo within the 7-day validity period. Of course, there will be room on the Shinkansen but I do recommend reserving your seats 1-2 days in advance. This way you are secure of seats together.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
