My plan is to arrive at Tokyo Narita at 3:25 pm. From Narita I will take a train to Tokyo and from Tokyo to Toyama the same evening. 6 days later I will leave Toyama back to Tokyo; after 2 days in Tokyo I will take a train to Kyoto and return from Kyoto to Tokyo the next day. From Tokyo I will take a train to Tokyo-Narita airport (total of 11 days in Japan). Do you advise purchase of Japan Rail Pass for 14 days? Can I use the pass also in the cities or only between cities?

Hi there,
Yes, the 14 day JR Pass would give you good value for money here and help you make good savings.
The JR Pass covers travel between all these cities, as well as local JR trains in each city. Especially around Tokyo, can you find many JR lines.
