I`M wondering if the 7 day rail pass needs to be used within 7days or if you can just use it when you need to ? and we would like to go to Sapparo, my grandson and I will be in Japan for 10 days does the bullet call in there, we are also hoping to go to Mt Fuji, Kyoto and Oksaka. I hope you can help me.

Hi there,

The JR Pass is counted in consecutive days, so it will start counting down from the 1st day that you use it.

You can use the Bullet train for most of the way to Sapporo (up to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station), from there you can use a high speed train for the last part.
