Hi all, I'm planning to travel from 16 May to 22 May. I've planned my itinerary as below. My flight will touch down at 2pm on 16 May and depature on 22 May is 5.15pm. Does below itinerary make sense and which JR pass should I be going for? I'm considering between the 7 day JR Hokuriku Arch Pass or the 7 day whole JR Pass. Any advice is much appreciated. Someone has told me the Hokuriku pass doesn't make sense as it doesn't cover any part of my itinerary.

Or is there any other passes that would work better for my itinerary. Thank you.

16 May Thurs: Narita Airport / travel to Kawaguchiko

17 May Fri: Kawaguchiko/ evening travel to Tokyo

18 May Sat: Tokyo

19 May Sun: Tokyo

20 May Mon: Kyoto

21 May Tue: Kyoto / Nara

22 May Wed: Kyoto / travel to Narita Airport

Hi there,

I would take the 7-day JR Pass for this trip, the Hokuriku Arch pass is slightly cheaper, it adds about 3 hours of travel time on the route Tokyo - Osaka. Which is not worth it, unless you plan on making a stop in between, such as at Nagano or Kanazawa.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
