Hi,
We will be in Japan on December for 12 days. Can you confirm please if it’s worth it to get a 7-day JR Pass for the below itinerary? I understand that most of the train stations near our accommodations below are serviced by non-JR/ private railways.

DAY 1: Narita Airport to Kanagawa (Teraodai Ayase)
DAY 2: Explore Kanagawa area
DAY 3: Kanagawa to Tokyo (accomm is near Oshiage/ Tokyo Skytree stn)
DAY 4: Explore Tokyo (Asakusa, Akihabara, Shibuya)
DAY 5: Tokyo Disneyland
DAY 6: Tokyo to Kawaguchiko (accomm is near Kawaguchiko stn)
DAY 7-8: Explore Fuji Five Lakes
DAY 9: Kawaguchiko to Takayama (accomm is near Takayma stn)
DAY 10: Shirakawago
DAY 11: Takayama to Shinjuku
DAY 12: Shinjuku to Narita Airport

Thanks!

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary but I think buying normal tickets here makes more sense. A lot of your travel is indeed on 3rd party railways and would not be covered by the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
