We are traveling to Japan in April. First headed to Misawa to meet up with our daughter. Then we are going to head to Sendai, Nagano, Kyoto, Osaka and end up in Tokyo. If we purchase the pass for ourselves (I understand our daughter is not eligible) will the bullet trains cover us for all those areas or will we have to purchase additional tickets to get to those places.

Hi there,
The JR Pass would cover travel to all the places you plan to visit.
When reserving seats, do so together with your daughter, seating together won't be a problem this way.
Enjoy Japan!
