My family of 4 (3 adults 1 child) will be travelling to Japan as follows:

  • Arrive Narita airport and go straight to Osaka for 5 days
  • Follow by 2 days in Kyoto
  • Then 2 days in Nagano
  • Finally 7 days in Tokyo
  • Departure Tokyo to Narita airport

Would appreciate your advice if a 14 day JR pass is worth to purchase?

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary, but a JR Pass would not help you make savings on this trip. Well, at least not the 14-day JR Pass, a 7-day pass would but then you'd have to be back in Tokyo before it expires. So my advice for now would be to just get the tickets as you go. Maybe even look at a flight Kyoto - Nagano.

Hope this helps,
