Hi,

We are traveling to watch the RWC in October and would like to visit Hiroshima and Kyoto in between matches. Is it possible to use the JR pass to travel on the bullet trains ? and also how do I do seat reservations ?

Also what are the limitations on the JR pass? Can I use it for short trips ? Can I use it on the the LTD. EXP THUNDERBIRD?

Thank you so much,

Hi there,

Yes, the you can easily do so. The JR Pass covers all Shinkansen lines in Japan. Seat reservations can be made at any JR station. Just show your pass and tell the staff where you want to travel.

The JR Pass is unlimited for its validity period, so you can ride as much as you'd like. This also includes the Thunderbird express.

Kind regards,
Daniel
