Can you please advise if Japanese Railways is running all year, including Christmas and New Year?
Is it possible to make reservations outside of Japan?
And if I have made reservation on specific date/time, but miss it, will it have consequences or can I just take next train?

Hi there,
Yes, you can use the JR Pass all year round and there's service on holidays too.
Reservations can be made once you are in Japan.
You can always take a non-reserved seat on the next train if you miss the train you reserved for.

Do you know where I can find time table for shinkansen from Nagoya-Tokyo and Tokyo-Osaka?
Google Maps keeps giving me time for Nozomi, but that one I cannot use with my ticket.

Hi there,
Google Maps is not a very good way to search for the JR Pass as it does not always show the Hikari and other covered Shinkansen options.
Instead, I would recommend using Hyperdia.
