My family and I will be arriving in Tokyo on 16 January 2023 and would like to pre-purchase the JR Pass before the price increase. Is it possible to buy online before 27 September and have it activated later so we can travel between 16 Jan - 1 Feb 2024 in Japan?

Hi Ellie,
This would only be possible if you arrive in Japan before Dec 29th and activate the pass then.
It will not be possible to activate passes with the old pricing in the new year.
