JR Pass or Regular Tickets?

Hello! My friends and I are traveling to Japan in July.
This is our plan:

27.7.2019 - 3.8.2019 Tokyo
3.8.2019 - 5.8.2019 Izushi
5.8.2918 - 10.8.2019 Kyoto
10.8.2019 - 14.8.2019 Tokyo

We just wanted to know whether it makes more sense to get a JR Rail Pass in Tokyo for the first 7 days, buy 24h tickets or buy the regular tickets when traveling around?

Or is there a better way to save money on general public transport costs?

We tried calculating the amount we would spend on the transportation cost and estimated around 385 Euro (44,557.76Yen). We would get a 24h ticket for each day in Tokyo and Kyoto, which is about 800-900Yen (around 7 Euros/ per day).
From Shinjuku to Mishima is around 4450Yen (around 35 Euros).
From Mishima to Kyoto is 11,811Yen (around 97 Euros).
From Kyoto back to Tokyo is around 14,125Yen ( around 116 Euros)

Hi there,

You've basically already done all the research and counting. Basically to summarize the price for tickets: Mishima - Kyoto - Tokyo is a bit below the cost of a 7-day Japan Rail Pass but not by a big amount. As it stands, it would thus be slightly cheaper to buy normal tickets but add any additional travel and the JR Pass could quickly becomes a good option.

Kind regards,
Daniel
