JR Pass or other Pass?

Hi, I am travelling to/ within the following areas and want to know what would be the best pass to get (if any):
Tokyo, Tanazawa, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyagima, Osaka (possibly Nara too)
I am landing in Tokyo Narita, and leaving from Osaka Kansai.
This would be over 14 days in May

I have also considered the Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass as it is cheaper, and buying separate tickets for the parts that are not covered.

What would be the best thing to get for this trip?
Thank you!

Hi there,

If you want flexibility and the convenience of everything covered, then the 14 day Japan Rail Pass. It's specially great for longer distance trips using the Shinkansen, such as Kanazawa and Hiroshima.

The Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass is a lower cost option and could be combined with a Kansai - Hiroshima area pass, but you'd be limited by the 7-day validity period of the Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass and you'd basically have to be back in Tokyo before it expires.

Hope this helps making the decision.
Daniel
