Hello
I've worked out that a 7 day JR pass is the best option for our 2 week trip. A 14 day pass isn't worth it, we just aren't travelling far enough or often enough in the first week. Even the 7 day pass isn't a huge saving for us, but still worth it i think.

i want to double check that all our routes over the last half of our holiday are valid for JR pass. And that the general JR Pass is the best option (it seems to be, but please tell me if there is a better option).

Kanazawa-Toyama return (doing a day trip on the Alpine Route)
Kanazawa to Nakatsugawa, via Nagano (which seems to be the fastest and simpleste route on Hyperdia, with just a change in Nagano)
Nagiso to Shinjuku via Shiojiri (also fastest and most direct to Shinjuku where we are staying)

A day trip to Hakone area from Tokyo Shinjuku (direct on Ltd Express Hakone 83) to Hakone Yumoto

the express train from Shinjuku to Narita airport on Narita Express.

Thank you

Hi there,

All trains are included, expect for the Hakone express from Shinjuku, as this is run by the Odakyu railway company. You can access Hakone using the JR Pass via Odawara station. The easiest way is to take a Shinkansen from Tokyo station.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
