I will travel to Japan Dec 28- Jan 8
We will be traveling to the following places
Dec 28-29 in Narita
Dec 30- Jan 2 in Tokyo
Jan 2-4 in Osaka
Jan 4 - 6 in Kawaguchiko
Jan 6-7 in Tokyo
Jan 8 and depart at Narita 5 pm.
What would you suggest as the best way to buy the JR Pass during the Peak Date, I was thinking to purchase the Green class to avoid the Crowding. If I could use 7 days pass it will be nice and when should I start using the 7 days pass. So we be able to reserve seating during the peak date? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
A 7 day JR Pass either ordinary or Green Class will work nicely here. Personally I prefer the Green Pass as it helps you to travel in more peace and quiet.
The new year period is always busy but I do not expect you'll any issue if you book your longer trips Tokyo - Osaka and Osaka - Kawaguchiko/Tokyo a couple days in advance. Especially the period 28th dec to 2nd of Jan is busy, so reserve your tickets to Osaka on the first or second day that you'll be in Tokyo.
