Hi I will be going to japan next year.
Should I get 7 days JR Pass?
And which area should we stay?
Do we need to get their subway train pass and how much does it cost?

23-26 March - Kyoto (accommodation at Kyoto Station)
26-29 March - Osaka ( accommodation at Namba)
29-06 April - Tokyo (not sure where to stay yet)

Hi there,

I would recommend using a 7 day JR Pass if you make a return trip Kyoto - Tokyo. I think you will be going only one way and thus buying normal rail tickets is better.

Locally you can buy day tickets for the metro and bus. In Kyoto there's a 500yen bus ticket for 1 day and in Tokyo a day ticket for the metro is around 750yen.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
