Hi,
I will be in Japan by late may and I was wondering if I should buy a JR Pass for 14 or 21 days.
My intinerary is:

27/apr Tokio Free Day
28/apr Tokio Tsukiji Fish Market - Shibuya Kabukiza (Theather)
29/apr Tokio Harajuku - Harajuku - Harajuku
30/apr Tokio Chiyoda
01/may Tokio Taito
02/may Tokio Yanesen (Yanaka|Nezu|Sendagi)
03/may Tokio Disneyland
04/may Tokio Minato
05/may Tokio Fuji
06/may Yokohama
07/may Tokyo > Nagoia
08/may Nagoya Science Museum - Nagoya Castle - Ferris Wheel
09/may Nagoya > Kyoto Fuji Icebreaker
10/may Kyoto
11/may Kyoto
12/may Kyoto > Osaka
13/may Osaka
14/may Osaka
15/may Osaka Universal
16/may Osaka > Tokyo
17/may Tokio - Narita Narita

Could I get just the 14 days and start to use it in may 5th?

Thanks for helping

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary and must say that right now it would be slightly cheaper to buy normal rail tickets than buy a 14 day JR Pass. The difference is small and adding a day trip somewhere (think of Hiroshima!) would easily change that.

We have a JR Farecalculator here. Which you can use to see how much you can save using the JR Pass.

You could use a JR Pass from May 5th, there is no need to start using it right away.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
