Hello

I will be travelling in Japan for ~21 days and was considering getting the 21 day pass. Would you be able to tell me if the JR pass covers all these location and if it is the best option for this trip?

Sept 7th: Tokyo -> Toyama
Sept 13th: Toyama -> Osaka
Sept 17th: Osaka -> Kyoto and then Kyoto -> Osaka
Sept 19th: Osaka -> Fuji
Sept 23rd: Fuji -> Tokyo

Thank you very much for your time.

Hi there,

The JR Pass will cover travel between all the cities you want to visit. However, you have a lot of downtime in Tokyo and Toyama. This is a bit of a waste for the JR Pass, as it is counted on a day-by-day basis.

I think the best option here is to just buy tickets as you travel because of the long downtime in Toyama.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
