I'm curious to know if it's worth purchasing a JR rail pass for my trip to Japan starting November 19.

My itinerary is as follows:

Tokyo to Kawaguchiko
Kawaguchiko to Kyoto
Kyoto to nara( day trip)
Kyoto to Okayama
Okayama to Naoshima( day trip)
Okayama to Hiroshima
Hiroshima back to Tokyo.

Any help or information would be much appreciated. I'm confused that some local trains are not JR pass combatible.

It would likely be worth it but could you tell me how many days you place to spend in each place? This would help me match you to the best pass.

2 days in kawachuchiko.

4 days in Kyoto

2 days in okayama

2 days in Hiroshima

3 days total in Tokyo

Would the 7 day JR pass be beneficial and activate it while in Kyoto?
