Does it pay for us to get the Japan Rail pass if we are planning to take a round trip bullet train to Osaka/Kyoto? We will only be in Japan from Sunday Feb. 16 at 3:30 until Thursday Feb. 20 at ll:00. We arrive at NRT and depart from HND. We are staying central Tokyo except for Tuesday night if we can take the bullet train to Osaka. Will we be able to make a reservation for just 2 days after we arrive and validate our pass?

Hi there,
You can certainly consider a Japan Rail Pass for this route.
The cost of the pass is similar in price as a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen. The JR Pass will be interesting if you would use it for local travel on JR lines, travel to/from the airport and perhaps an extra day trip?
