Hi there. Arriving at KIX on Sept 26th and going straight to Kyoto with a JR Pass. Leaving Kyoto for Tokyo on the morning of Sept 29th. Back to Osaka on the morning of Oct 2nd, as we fly back from KIX on the 4th. As I understand, a 7-day JR Pass will last me through Oct 2nd and I''d have to do Osaka-KIX on a regular train service. Which would you recommend? Is it worth buying the JR Pass for the itinerary above? Thank you.

Hi there,
A 7-day JR Pass is worth considering here, the cost of this pass is about the same as a return ticket Kyoto/Osaka Tokyo using the Shinkansen. From there, any additional travel is where you can make savings. Think of travel from the airport, travel on local JR lines within cities like Tokyo and Osaka and perhaps a day trip somewhere.
