We are 2 friends travelling to Japan in November and trying to figure out wether it’s better to buy jrpass or individual tickets for our itinerary
31st oct - 4th Tokyo based and doing day trips
- Tokyo to Nikko
- Tokyo to Kawaguchiko (Mt Fuji)
- Tokyo to Odawara / Nebukawa for Enoura Observatory
4th Nov - evening Tokyo to Kyoto (3 days)
8th - Kyoto to Nara
9th - Kyoto to Himeji and Kobe
Considering Hiroshima instead of Himeji / Kobe
10th - Kyoto to Takayama
12th - Takayama to Tokyo

Is getting jrpass worth it for our trip?

Hi there,
Because of the length of your itinerary it is likely that a JR Pass would not be a cost-effective option for your itinerary. I would therefore suggest purchasing your tickets individually, unless you were to shorten your itinerary by one day so that your train journeys could be fit into a 7-day window.
Kind regards,
Alexis
