Is a 14 day JR pass value for money

Hi. We are travelling to Japan later in the month for 13 days and are wondering if we should purchase the 14 day JR pass for 2 adults and 2 children or pay as we go. I have included a copy of our itinerary for you.
Day 1- Narita airport to shinjuku Tokyo
Day 2- travelling around Tokyo
Day 3- travel to Hakone
Day 4-hakone to Kyoto
Day 5 and 6- travelling in kyoto
Day 7- kyoto to Osaka
Day 8- travelling in Osaka
Day 9- Osaka to Hiroshima
Day 10- travelling to miyajima
Day 11- Hiroshima to Tokyo
Day 13- tokyo to Narita airport.

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary and a 14 day Japan Rail Pass would help you make good savings compared to buying normal tickets, especially with a travel company of four. Not only that, it would be a very convenient option as you would not have to buy many other tickets. Just show the pass and you're ready to go.

The Rail Pass includes travel to all the cities and stops you wish to make but you may still need local transport.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
