If I cannot make a train that I have reserved seats for

After arrival to Japan I plan to make seat reservations for the important legs of our trip. If our plans change and we would not use the trains that we will have seats reserved for, is there an Email address I could send a notification about the fact that we will not use the reserved seats?

I would not want to have to make a special trip to the train station and I would like to avoid calling ( my plan charges 25 c/minute and my experience has been that I could not make a call to Japan for less than 10 minutes for anything (people do not speak English, have a hard time understanding the info I communicate, etc.).

What's the best way to deal with this if it happens? Thanks,

Susan

Hi Susan,

The only way would be to go to the station and get the tickets changed that way. The staff needs to have the actual tickets to do so.

Kind regards,
Daniel
